She has appeared on Broadway in Barnum, Dreamgirls, Cats, Carrie, Once on this Island, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Fela! (Tony Award nomination) and most recently in Chicago in the Fall of 2021 as Matron “Mama” Morton having first appeared in the Broadway production in 2006. Lillias White is a Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Award winner for her performance in The Life. On television, Solea has recurred on The Good Fight and appeared in one of the final episodes of ABC’s Scandal. Solea starred in the world premiere of the musical Gun & Powder at the Signature Theatre, and as Maria in the LA Philharmonic/Gustavo Dudamel Hollywood Bowl production of West Side Story, later reprising the role in Steven Reinecke’s National Symphony Orchestra production at the Kennedy Center. Prior to that she was seen in the critically acclaimed run of Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World (New York City Center Encores! Off-Center), Sondheim On Sondheim (Hollywood Bowl), and as Eliza in the West Coast premiere of Hamilton. Solea starred in the title role of New York City Center’s revival of Evita, and starred opposite Renee Fleming in The Light in the Piazza at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She completed a sold-out run of her solo show You Are Here for Audible Theater. Solea is fresh off her Broadway debut in Almost Famous and her film debut in Tyler Perry’s A Jazzman’s Blues with Netflix. Solea Pfieffer is currently starring as Ophelia in Shakespeare in the Park’s Hamlet. ![]() Boykin is the Founder, Director, and Manager of the NYGOSPEL BROTHERS. He has toured throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, Russia, Poland, and North America. He also studied at SC State University, Howard University, and the NC School of the Arts. Boykin portrayed the role of Big Hand in the movie Freedom (starring Cuba Gooding Jr.) and The Driver in Top Five (starring Chris Rock). Washington in the Anniversary Concert of Ragtime at Lincoln Center. Other performances, Joe in the National Tour of Show Boat, The Pirate King/Samuel in Pirates of Penzance, Ken in Ain't Misbehavin’, Crown/Jake in Porgy and Bess, Caiaphas in JCS, and Jesus Christ Superstar Gospel, Fred in Smokey Joe's Cafe, The Lion in The Wiz and Jim in Big River just to name a few. Other performances on Broadway: The Music Man, On the Town and Sunday in the Park With George. A Theatre World Award winner and The Distinguished Alumni and The Anchor Award from the UofH Hartt School of Music.
